Article Introduction
Article- The perfect image
What is the perfect Image???
I was thinking the other day about being
back at school and college and how I use to be bullied because I didn’t have
the perfect image. At the time of being at college I didn’t have the best body
(I’ll admit that) but I wasn’t a “whale” in fact looking back now I wouldn’t
even class myself fat but that didn’t seem to matter to the humans who were
born to pick the worse bits of you out. I found out that almost HALF of all
teenagers are bullied at school- with most of them being us girls. I decide I
wanted to find out what the perfect image was and what was the creation of this
monster of an image.
My introduction to my magazine article is an anecdote as it is a story of the writer and his/her view on the perfect image. I did this because the target audience is young women and it will help them communicate and engage with the article.
shutter speed
Fast shutter speed
Slow shutter speed
Shutter speed captures different movement, whether it's a fast shutter speed, which captures and freezes what is happening when you pressed the button or whether it is slow shutter speed which captures the the movement of the moving thing.
For fast shutter speed I used 1/60th of a second and freeze the falling water (top photo). The problem with fast shutter speed (and it is seen in the top photo) was that since the lens isn't open for that long was that not a lot of light comes in so the images come out quite dark. To solve those problems I would use Photoshop to brighten the images.
For slow shutter speed I used 10-30 seconds to capture the movement of a light in a dark room and the shape it creates (bottom photo). The problem with slow shutter speed is judging the time needed to capture the movement and that you can't see what is happening while the photo is being taken so it's hard to see if the whole image is being captured.

Language techniques
First/ second person narrative.
My friend, she goes to a different college to me, was telling me the other day that at hers people got bullied by the way they looked even when there was nothing wrong with them. I was thinking that's just what happened at my college, I should know because I get teased but I should do as my body is like a beached whale, fat and unnatural, NOT COOL!
I did some research on de web the other day and what I found out was 1/4 of secondary school girls are picked on for being TOO pretty - don't know whether to be jealous or not :S. People are also being bullied because they're not pretty enough, but how do you know if you are "pretty enough", is there a book that everyone else has but me??
Third person narrative
A survey shows that children as young as 10 years old feel under pressure to have the "Perfect" body, which puts them at risk of anorexia.

Healing tool
In photoshop I used the healing tool on David Beckham to get rid of the shiny forehead and nose and to get rid of the wrinkles in the forehead, eyes and elsewhere.
InDesign Magazine cover and double spread
<-Double page spread
I made a cover and double page magazine spread on InDesign. I did my cover and double page on a well known actress at the time, Jennifer Lawrence, I did my magazine mainly on her because she is well known and is the main character in the popular movie "Hunger Games". My magazine is targeted at 15-19 year old females, this is scene though the subtitles going across the front cover, they are mostly all based on fashion and beauty. The colour code is red and white, I chose red because it gives the connotation of hot and power which is what the readers as well as Jennifer Lawrence, herself, want to gain.
Santa's little helpers CD cover
For in the Christmas spirit I created a CD cover using the brushes and fonts I downloaded. The brushes I downloaded were the stars, reindeer, Christmas tree, antlers and the snowman. I chose the scenery to be a midnight scene with reindeer flying across the sky, over the snowy ground and trees. I picked the colour code for the text to be green and red as they are traditional Christmas colours and I picked a font that had snow on top to link in with the snowy scenery.
